At least Tom Cruise still has Katie Holmesand Suri. But he doesn't have Paramount Pictures. After 14 years,Paramount is ending its relationship with Tom Cruise's production company. Paramount head Sumner Redstone tells the Wall StreetJournal, Cruise's "recent conduct has not been acceptable to Paramount." And he thinks that's why "Mission Impossible 3" didn't do that great at the box office. Cruise's "conduct," of course, is when he had a heated discussion with Matt Lauer,severely criticizing using antidepressant drugs, and his exuberantdisplay on Oprah Winfrey's couch. Redstone adds, "As much as welike him personally, we thought it was wrong to renew his deal."Variety had reported last month Paramount wasn't rushing to renewits deal with Tom Cruise. Now, his producing partner, Paula Wagner,says she and Cruise are going with independent financing for their movies.
